Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds, and sesame is a common allergen. You can offer it from around 6 months, once your baby has started solids: stir a little into purée, porridge or yoghurt, one new allergen at a time, and keep offering it if there’s no reaction. Thick tahini is sticky, so thin it or spread it very thinly. If your baby has severe eczema or a known food allergy, talk to your GP first.
